2024 Georgia Bulldogs football schedule announced

Yesterday’s game was meaningful for more than just the players, as it was the 75th anniversary of the event being held. The organization decided to list an anniversary team with this special date and included two former Bulldogs who participated in the game previously.

The two players named had lengthy careers in the NFL after being able to compete in this game, including one NFL Hall of Famer. Hines Ward and Geno Atkins were included on this list of highly talented players. The Hall of Fame wide receiver played in the 1998 Senior Bowl, which helped elevate him to being selected 92nd overall in the third round by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ward had 1,000 catches, 12,083 reception yards, and 85 touchdowns in his 14-year career.

Atkins participated in the 2010 Senior Bowl, which led him to being drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the fourth round, 120th overall. Although Atkins has not officially retired, his career seems to have ended. He has 383 total tackles, 75.5 sacks, eight forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. Atkins could well be on his way to the Hall of Fame.
