REPORT: NFL Mock Draft: Bills Select ‘What They Need’

The Buffalo Bills will be on the clock at No. 28 overall when the 2024 NFL Draft begins in Detroit on Thursday, April 25, and many expect them to address the offense in some shape or form with their first-round selection.

And in their final pre-Super Bowl mock draft, CBS Sports predicts the Bills to do just that.

CBS Sports has Buffalo selecting Oregon receiver Troy Franklin in the first round, writing that this pick would be “what the Bills need offensively.”

“Franklin is a tall speedster whose numbers increased in each of his three seasons at Oregon,” the site wrote. “There’s some after-the-catch juice to his game too. Precisely what the Bills need offensively.

” Franklin is the fifth receiver off the board in this particular mock draft. This past season, Franklin was the No. 1 receiver for Heisman finalist Bo Nix in an elite Ducks passing offense. After posting a combined 1,100 receiving yards during his first two collegiate seasons, Franklin exploded during his third year in 2023, finishing with 81 catches for a team-high 1,383 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns. He had eight 100-yard receiving games across 13 contests.

Buffalo’s future at receiver is unclear given recent comments made by Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis inevitably testing the free-agent market. Though it’s unlikely the Bills will trade Diggs this offseason, it’s hard to rule out anything.

As a result, the Bills could certainly target a receiver in the first round, and Franklin would be a potential highlight-reel pick.
