Just in: Analyst Warns Ravens Against Signing 1 RB

The Baltimore Ravens have several issues to address in the offseason.

Notably, one of those issues definitely isn’t the running game.

Mike Macdonald leaving to become the head coach of the Seattle Seahawks could be a major factor, and they will have plenty of free agents on the defensive side of the ball.

Considering that and other notable key areas, NFL analyst Craig Carton believes they shouldn’t go after Derrick Henry as some people believe.

“The one team that doesn’t need Derrick Henry is the Baltimore Ravens. What he brings to the table doesn’t suit what they do offensively,” Carton said.

The Ravens are currently the odds-on favorites to sign the former Tennessee Titans star.

However, he points out the fact that Henry isn’t as efficient when he gets fewer than 15 touches per game, and the Ravens just aren’t going to give him 20+ touches week in and week out.

Carton explained that Henry is only at his best when the defense is worn out, and he averages just 3 yards per rush when he’s not heavily involved in the running game.

The Ravens committed to make Lamar Jackson more of a pocket passer last season, and it worked perfectly during the regular season.

They also had a dominant running back committee, with multiple players finding success on the ground despite not being big stars.

Perhaps they should spend that money somewhere else.
